  • Wanted Cue makers in Scotland?

Hey does anyone know any cue makers in Scotland? Can go about £200!

    Cheers

Mac cues, the guy is a member on here called The Doctor and if I remember rightly he does custom cues and his plain ebony cues start at £200. There is also a member here called raymo147 who make Exquisite Cues who is from Scotland but I believe his plain ebony start around the £220-250 mark

Hey Rob! Thanks alot for the swift reply. Don't suppose you would know their email address or a website to look at their work? I can't seem to pm yet!

      Cheers

I don't know there email address but if you use the search feature, search for The Doctor and Raymo147 and I'm sure there will be posts by them with there email address in as they reply to lots of enquiries. They may even reply in this thread to be honest. Once you make 10 posts then it will mean you can pm but sometimes it takes a few hours after you complete the 10 posts as it has to be approved by an admin or moderator of the forum

After a quick search here is Raymond's email address who makes Exquisite Cues: Leggend@hotmail.com
Here is Richy McDonald's email address who makes MAC Cues: richy1471@hotmail.com
Both are highly skilled cue makers

Hey rob thanks alot for doing that! In work so just got to have a look on here just now! Ill write them both an email tonight as me and my mate are both looking to get 1, probably at the same time. I'm not really sure how it works, do they just have cues in stock that we could come down and choose a couple? Or do they only make once you order it?

            Cheers

You can have a custom order made with decorative splices and any specs you want (within reason) but you will wait a few weeks for the cue to be made. Most cue makers will have some cues close to completion and some will have a few completed cues in stock, as long as your specs aren't too out of the ordinary I'm sure you would be able to get a cue or 2 pretty quickly from 1 of these 2 quality cuemakers. A good friend of mine uses a 1pc Exquisite snooker cue and its lovely, I've also seen a mac cue which was maple and pool spec which was a really well made cue so you would be really happy with a cue from either Richy or Raymond

There's a few guys in my club who play with "Exquisite Cues" made by forum member Raymond. They are very happy with them and Raymond is a great guy to deal with. James Butters from Dumfries is another Scottish cuemaker and he sells from time to time on E-bay under the name of Jooolsbrummer.
Any reason why you want a Scottish cuemaker?

Top man. Tell him what you want, he'll deliver for a decent price.

I have just taken delivery of another Mac cue (for a friend). I am very impressed as I have always been by Richy's cues.

Cheers rob, your replies have been alot of help! And will be emailing with enquiries tonight!

Hey bigmeek, cheers for the reply and ill have a look on ebay later also! The only reason is travel, we live in inverness so going down as far as England is 6-7 hours drive! Just wanted to get a feel of the cues before we decided on what to get! If you know of any other makers that are well made and well priced ill gladly fire them an email aswell!

Cheers for all the replies, great forum, wish I'd found it sooner!

Hey pottr, input is appreciated! Don't want to sound cheeky or nosey but what specs / price were the 2 cues you purchased? We are only club players, my highest break is 22 that started on a fluke! Lol, so are they well suited to the casual player? And will they last? If I take care of them of course!

                      Cheers
