  • eBay Old JP Mannock Pearwood (and case)

Had this a while now when I was thinking about starting a little collection, but seeing it just gather dust is making me want to move it on. At some point the face splice was damaged and from what I was told Tony Glover repaired it, the tulip wood on the front face splice is a bit darker than the other 3 splices of tulipwood. has a pretty old weight stamp on it as well with the "oz" being above the numbers, and the numbers font also looks a bit unusual, near sure I remember reading somewhere Burroughes and Watts only used the "oz" above the numbers till sometimes in the early-mid 1920's before putting the OZ beneath the numbers. The butt also has a strange shape, being angled instead of flat at the bottom which I've never seen before.

    Pics can be seen here

Surprised to see it on ebay for that price so soon, I can't see it getting that much though, seen a few go for around £250 ish.

I was thinking it was worth about £200 given it had had some work.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                  I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Noticed someone seemed to have forgotten to mention it having any "work" done on it..

I get it all the time, I sold a cue around 6 months ago for £30 (low price as it was correctly described), which then appeared immediately back on eBay for £120 bets offer (no mention of anything not being original), it sold for £90 ironically to someone who often runs his new purchases past me to get their history - not amused when I passed on the correct history of that cue.

he has hardly had time to get it out of the tube and apply chalk, i am not that quick and getting cues ready to sell that i have bought and it's my job! Very ambitious pricing at 425 i would say. £300 ono he would have made a fast £50.

                              The Cats going nowhere

Doesn't bother me that he's trying to make a few quid on it, Im sure most cues go that way to some extent. Just surprised at how fast it was on the bay.
