I bid 225£ for this and got outbid. It got sold for 230£ with case included.

    JP champion cue
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1710889719...84.m1426.l2649

I bought this one for 265£ including postage to Denmark

    JP ambassador red glue model
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1211520868...84.m1497.l2649

Off course these are no good because they don't fetch you an extra 50£ that you live off and scratch eachothers' back to get.

I am glad I was smart enough to not pay 50+£ for your "cue expertise".

    Case closed!!

Lol......now that made me laugh !

I don't know if there is something lost in translation......but this guy's wording is so aggressive .

You need to calm down......no one is trying to rip you off for another £50 . It's the beauty of the world we live in , where you can shop around and get what you consider a bargain .

It's called freedom of choice .

Can't see why you want to be rude to people who are only trying to advise / help you .

            Life is too short .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

The JP Ambassador is less 'desirable' than the JP Classic?

Was considering the Ambassador prior to buying a Classic... tbh, as long as it 'feels right', it doesn't really matter how 'desirable' it is unless you're a serial cuephile.

OK guys stop bombarding at me. I am going through some rough time in my life and that makes me a bit touchy. To get a decent snooker cue was also a part of an attempt to indulge in playing snooker to keep my mind off certain things. Maybe I am overly touchy right now but two guys did misbehave to me and I reacted to them. I have no problems with anyone else. I just talk like that and maybe it is cultural difference or communication gap that you expect me to behave a certain way which seems right to you. I have no intention of being rude towards anyone who does not ask for it and apart from those two guys I have nothing against anyone. I am no millionaire but over the years have worked hard enough to pay a few hundred pounds for a cue. It never was about the money. I cannot wait for months to order a custom made one and I do not know what specifications I want. So I was looking for a quick intermediate step where I try and play a brand and then figure out if I need any alterations. if I do then I could order a custom one and wait months because I had the intermediate arrangement.

                              1. It did not make sense to spend 800£ on a cue which would be my "intermediate" cue anyway

                              2. Even if I had taken the plunge, I needed some kind of certificate of authenticity from a guy who knew about cues. That is all I needed. Some help or pointer what would be a decent intermediate cue while I determine what should be my specs.

                              3. When there are so many fakes and counterfeit cues around, my concern was genuine. All I needed was a reliable name. A genuine honest guy. Now I know that anyone with a big name usually does good products but once they get famous they start cashing on it and a 200£ worth cue becomes 400£. However there must be honest and talented craftsmen still in the UK who probably do not have the branding or marketing behind them but are as good or comparable in the art of cue making. That was the info I was after.

                              4. I talked to Crispian Jones over the phone and he appeared a very nice guy. He gave me a reasonable and fair price and I was very close to placing the order there and then but I cannot wait the 4 months he needs.

                              5. Since I needed a cue quick I turned to ebay. I bid on a couple and won one. i was happy with it just because I want this damn process to end and just want a cue in my hand. As it turned out the seller only wants paypal and I cannot do that. The story there is that I had a card registered with paypal few years back. I lost my wallet and with it that card. I called the bank and got that cancelled. A couple of years passed and I only logged in yesterday to try to pay with paypal. Now it asks me for a security question before I can even contact support paypal staff to help me with this. It asks for the full credit card number that I had registered with them. Naturally I cannot remember the number and the card is lost. There is no simple way out of it when I cannot even email paypal customer support before answering the security question.

                              6. I offered bank transfer as it is easiest for me and I can transfer money using online banking but for that I needed his name and address, his IBAN, and his bank's BIC. He was reluctant to give his name and address and did not know BIC for his bank either. We agreed on cancelling the deal because he thought probably I was some scam trying to rob him off his millions somehow

So after all this pain and your extreme warmth that you have been showering on me so generously, I still do not have a cue and do not have the energy either

I got pissed and I decided that I will just try something different. I contacted Master cue Thailand and I have a quote for ProButt1 from Master Cues. I will place an order later today or tomorrow once the shipping is clarified. How bad a Thai cue would be? I actually do not care after all this .. at least I will have a cue and who knows it might turn out to be decent as well. I will get it in less than 14 days instead of months so its OK.

If you have read thus far and can or want to genuinely help without teaching me how to behave, you still have a few hours to offer me something that is fair price and fair quality. preferably through a pm. If you cannot or do not want to help that is fine. This is my last post on this thread coz I really have no more energy.

                                Does 2000 quid sound fair?

Does it pot balls without me having any skill?

Was it owned by ROS? If so, happy to give you 10.000 pounds.

I know nothing about cues, but I know that cue is the BOMB!!

Do you have free postage? What sort of tip does it have?

                                Thanks!!
