No wonder the cue makers use Thai, shafts that looks a beauty, but I don't like all the splices, prefer plain cues, but I can appreciate the work involved.

the cue itself owes me £214.60 plus whatever the cost of tying up a few grand for a few months is.

It actually looks great in the flesh not as cluttered as you might think.

the point is this - nobody has a better cue for sale just now. if that badge said trevor white it would fetch £700 easily.

This is what I don't get ADR, these lads are making great cues at sometimes a third of the price, what more can you want.

not exactly - you need somebody like crispian to make it a great cue, the Thais themselves like dipping them in varnish! but yes point taken.

I'v never been that bothered about what the butt looks like cause its not the end i can see when im playing, the shafts the bit that matter's and the way i hold the cue arrows never mattered much either. I get them to play with not to look at, what i will say is these new shafts from the few i tried are all to stiff for me i don't like them. However i discovered Jim Evans and he's sent me some lovely old cues he's put new butt's on and a few originals, he does worry about his splicing, to me they look fine but i guess some guys on here would maybe pick up on maybe a few ml out. So i don't really care where the shaft comes from Andrew its how it plays but im sure someone somewhere will pay you the right money for this. I do look at some butt's the female type lol

                    I will bid 200 . . .
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

First bid on the cue was 100, then 150 . . . so bidding 200.

Maybe you should throw in a case too.

                          Social experiment thread!

the obsession lies in what or whom is written on that tiny little disc on the end of the cue. as andrew has alluded to if it said tw on it 700 but as it says crispian and we assume rightly or wrongly it is a thai shaft we r struggling to top 200 regardless of the build quality or all round quality of the cue.
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!

I think the whole thing about Crispian, is that he DOES differentiate between his "Handmade", & his "Customised" cues.

Have a read at his "about my cues" section on his website.

That way you don't have to assume anything.

If I'm wrong, then please disregard all of the above.

I don't think you could argue with a price around £250 knowing it was part made by the Maker on the badge, even know it's as good or better quality as an ultimate makes no difference, as it was mainly made using cheap labour.

OK - 250 pounds - mainly to show support to Crispian!

                                Plus, I don't want ADR crying . . . .
