No just a lot of honest people . How can you suggest such a thing .

I asked Trevor if he could put his badge in the 6" mini butt that he is making for me ........he has stopped doing this , as he saw a cue that wasn't his and someone had taken the badge out of the mini butt and put it in the cue to try and sell it as a TW .

So his policy is that he only badges cues........can't blame him obviously , but just goes to show what lengths people will go to , in order to make a few quid .

Well he is from Hong kong, i think they don't have same ethics as us, profit is king, nothing else matters

I think you are referring to china to which I would agree with. However, until 1997, Hong Kong was governed by the uk. And retains the business practices and legal system from the uk.

i was just trying to decipher the social experiment in this thread and whether it's related to profit vs morality or w/e haha

in any case legally it's not fraud since "Trevor White" is not trademarked

I think if you badge a cue trevor white that is not a trevor white cue it is clearly morally wrong and i believe trevor has an automatic trademark on his work in the uk a bit like you own the rights to a photo you take.

in the UK and US, unregistered trademarks have some limited protection against 'commercial misrepresentation'. if you sell it to an asian buyer and reroute the cue so that it's origin is not the UK, then you are should be ok e.g. the dave coutts case in china etc.

is the social experiment whether your morality is worth 400 extra quid?

not sure about extra quid - more about will it still fetch a sensible sum when people have all the information.
