Have you tried dragon cues? They can do you a cue with 2 different shafts.Simon Ward had them make him an extra shaft for breaking/snooker and im assuming you are from Swansea and dragon cues are located in Port Talbot which aint far.
I personally find them kinda hit n miss but a few of the county pool players by me own dragon cues and they have no problems.

MW made a maple 12mm shaft for me to pair up my ash custom for playing pool in the USA. As it turned out the balls are smaller on the bar tables so I use the 9.5mm ash shaft and use the bigger tip on the big pool tables.

You might be ok playing pool with your current cue/tip combo. Give it a try!

American pool cues tend to be heavier than snooker cues.

May I know how heavy is your snooker cue? Do you find it more difficult to generate power with your snooker cue, albeit bigger tip?

I play both snooker and Americal pool, so considering getting a 2-in-1 made too.

My custom is just over 18oz but the USA pool balls on a 7' table are similar to snooker ball size. On my 8' table at home they are a bit bigger.
I have just bought cue another from Mike and he made it 10mm tip and 20oz and I will be trying it out in a couple of weeks when I land back in San Diego.
I tend to adapt to the weight quite easily and my first cue was 17oz which was stolen and that is why I ended up finding this place and buying a cue from Mike.
It is rare I have to hit pool balls hard so generating lot's of power rarely happens. I can get lots of side and screw with Mike's tip when I couldn't before..... sometimes too much!

Thanks for the info Steve... I can imagine the 20oz cue would come in handy for those heavier American pool balls... :snooker:
