  • eBay Antique Edwardian Cue Rack with Mirror

Will add some photos tomorrow, Wall mounted or free standing oak/mahogany cue rack holding 7 cues with mirror, in superb condition. Size is 50ins high by 22ins wide by 4ins and mirror is 36ins high by 15ins across.

Will be collection only, 5mins from Dartford Crossing, will be going on eBay, cost me £195, these items are very rare and sell for much more but it's no good to me any more so will accept offers over £125.

i sold one of these last year for £295. would have kept it but took up too much space in relation to the number of cues it would hold for my house!

Was it one of these: http://postimg.org/gallery/zse4irq/948e1221/ ?

They price at about what you sold it for or auction houses will guide them a bit higher but it's gathering dust now. I'm no David Bailey but hopefully the images show it is complete and undamaged and a good dust and polish would see it looking tip top. I'd be happy with offers around half what you got but it is collect only.

That's unusual. It seems to be an English overmantle in the style of a Continental cue rack, but it's like nothing I've seen before. I would be concerned that the top moulding does not seem to be designed to take the spring clips which are screwed into it, albeit the clips themselves look to be of some age. Everything else looks right. Very strange. Do you know anything of it's history?

Nope, but it looks okay to me, if it was modified to take cues it all matches and it fits for cues. I picked it up in an antique shop in Kent and there was an old J Bennett cue in the rack which I'll maybe tinker with separately one day. As a rack it looks period and complete, carvings above the mirror match at the base where the cue butts sit. I do know it's not a common design but have not been able to find out any more about it. If anybody wants it see above.
