I am selling my Uncles Sidney Smith Cue. The inscription reads: "The Sidney Smith Championship Cue. Professional Billiards Champion 1947 - 1948" and following a helpful pointer from jrc750 I can confirm that it is machine spliced.
The cue is in good condition and has 02 and 16 1/2 stamped on the shaft and I am guessing everyone reading this will know what these figures mean - presumably the 16 1/2 is the weight? .... please forgive my ignorance - I enjoy playing and watching but my knowledge of the technical side of cues is nil.
The length of the cue is 1470 mm and the diameter of the tip is 10mm.
In response to my post on the snooker lounge forum, jim evans has suggested that it is worth in the region of £120 to £130 so would welcome offers based on this.
I have photo's of the cue but am not able to post any attachments, being a new member, but I can email them if you get in touch.
Thank you for reading this post.
Mike
