first - the Spruce chalk of this thread is Triangle chalk and still made by Tweeten, just a different colour as opposed to the light green and the dark blue colours
secondly, I have found that Tweeten Spruce much better on pressed tips (not all makes but any), better application and coverage on the tip, better staying on the tip, less transfer to the ball.
Some have mentioned that the Spruce is not "that" good (as other colours) on some laminate tips.
hi Neil
as we chatted once, I think you must be a "heavy" handed chalker, where I am a light chalker (i.e just let the chalk run over the tip and hardly any press down) as I don't have such "residue" issues. You once said "chalk on your shoes", did you not?
But then I never have with any chalk I have used.
Did you have the same issue with green chalk, or any other makes you have tried?
Blimey Dean , you've got a good memory ! Got some expensive trainers had chalk dust on them and was a nightmare to clean them . So being the tart that i am , i only wear trainers / shoes that i can easily clean . As for for being heavy handed you might be right , but my pastry is a light as a feather
I am currently using a Pool Baron Medium (pressed tip) and the Spruce does not cover well, where Green does.
I am awaiting some ADR soft (black - no tan in stock currently) so that will be my first laminate tip (gulp) and will obvious try out the Spruce as I still like the contact feel it gives compared to Green.
I will report once received and tested.
from reading the recent posts, maybe I must be a light chalker as I am using the same lump of chalk for the last year, it is over half left easily..., ?
........some would almost say ' Limp Wristed' Dean.......
or some would almost say "ham-fisted"... Neil
anyway here is a photo of the chalk I use for snooker, I would say that in a normal week I play 6-7 hours with some all afternoon sessions thrown in (not as often as I would like), and this chalk is about a year old.
so still some meat left but will probably start on another lump soon.
