playing with numbers yeah? lol more dry humor. btw most of our food is imported, and funnily so is our economy.. so in a word yes! or what most know to be food, just topped up on sugar and salt defrosted in plastic.

Great news for the enlightened among us, but as the majority still believe that god made everything and still vote for their own masters rather than freeing themselves from the slavery of following leaders, nothing will change.

you need to be a bit more enlightened. Even the most pessimistic figures (daily mail daily express official figures are lower) would say only 24% of our food is imported. personally only my wine is.

lol, here we go again, you are a funny fella. i don't do media, read news papers, and i aint watched tv for six years..that's probably why i'm a wee bit more upto-speed.. and i didn't learn how to make a 147 and make my own cue but watching youtube ether

joking aside, with the greatest respect you stated that most of our food is imported, and it is not. maybe if you live in london it feels that way but when you go outside the M25 you realise the UK is still a huge producer of food and could very easily be self sufficient. I am not sure what you think makes you up to speed but your statements are not realistic.

yes this fertile land could do what you say easy, no problem. apart from scratching around to try and find the seeds you might have a knock on the door from one of the handful of global food agents, they would have something to say about the attempt. we also use to have the most amount of differing apples than anywhere in the world, but where have they gone? how many apples types of apples can you buy in the supermarket 3,4, maybe 5?!
