yes this fertile land could do what you say easy, no problem. apart from scratching around to try and find the seeds you might have a knock on the door from one of the handful of global food agents, they would have something to say about the attempt. we also use to have the most amount of differing apples than anywhere in the world, but where have they gone? how many apples types of apples can you buy in the supermarket 3,4, maybe 5?!
have you thought that that huge amount of food you say we produce could be for export? anyway, i can't prove i'm right and your not about to do the research to prove me wrong.

I do try and buy local stuff, although I read something recently that said we can be conned with that as well.

My local butcher/green grocer has been going in our village for years. He's also a mate. Trust him. Especially when I have big bbqs

you need to be a bit more enlightened. Even the most pessimistic figures (daily mail daily express official figures are lower) would say only 24% of our food is imported. personally only my wine is.

you might want to lay off the wine a wee bit fella because your making no sense. its not a forecast show, these are actual products being imported. and 24% would have actually been the figures in the mid 80s.

I believe they came from Thailand and were £240 each
