  • Wanted Best cues for £200

    Hi everyone.
Thinking of starting playing again and am looking for a new or 2nd hand cue, up to £200 ish, wondered if Phoenix were any good and does anyone know the best place to get a reasonably priced cue.
3/4 jointed, ash shaft ebony butt, 9.5mm tip approx.
    Many thanks
    Tony

I went into a chemist and asked for a deodorant, the assistant said "ball, stick or aerosol", "No, I want it for under my arms!" was my reply.

I have a mastercue and love how it plays . A few of the better players at the club have used it and have said how well it plays . The range from £140 for the classic (mine). £150 ish for the pro butt range , £175 for the exclusive (my next cue probably) . They then go over the £200 mark for the others

Phoenix get good reviews here also

Thank you mate, thinking of master cue, Phoenix etc, had a gbl before, which was excellent, but don't really wanna go over £200, will look at master cues tough, any idea of best sites to find them?
Seen a master cue pro butt with extension for £150 on eBay which looks tempting

Thanks Brian, not sure what to go for at the moment, tempted by gbl, as I had one before and it was excellent and Stu was great help, but bit over my budget really, looking for £150-£200 ideally, that's why I thought of master cues or Phoenix, or maybe it would be worth paying extra for a gbl, any ideas?

personally if I had to choose from the list u gave master cue would be my choice in fact thinking of getting one as my next cue either the master cue rocket or pro butt both are in your price range and would get change out of £200

Just a mention. I used to own a Mastercue Heritage. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was how slim the butt was. Ive only got small hands but a butt of around 30mm feels perfect to me. Never measured the mastercue butt tho my guess would be about 28mm. Didnt keep it long for that reason.

Ask Andy travis, makes very good cues to your spec and may have something around your budget mate.

that's the same reason I dont like them very slim around the butt of the cue other than that they are superb

Yes the butt is slim . I have large hands and have no bother , but that's maybe because I've always owned cues with a slim butt.
