We pulled him up on here a week or so ago as he sold the mast cue on ebay then posted it on here for sale.

I second this sorry Wayne but as a collective forum people need to stick together and check these things out.

The reason alarm bells rang for me was that you had the same surname, the same mail provider, you are in the same area, will only deal bank transfer, you advertise on gumtree, your selling a trevor white all exactly the same as a recent scammer. Also a new member with no previous etc.

I'm sure you can see why people had concerns over this. I have emailed again regarding the cue. Thanks

Cheers for the call earlier Zak and I hope you get your money back and get justice and that goes for anyone else who has been conned.

in this case you have evidence of it being a fraud - police will be interested.

I will be going to police station tomorrow to log my case. I have logged this to actionfraud and still have not heard back from them.I called the policy and I was advised to notify gumtree and wait on actionfraud getting back . I notified gumtree and nobody contacted me as yet and the guy has already listed 10 different things on gumtree .He also been changing telephone numbers all the time.

I logged my case through Action Fraud website and I would suggest that those who have been ripped off do the same. Action Fraud is a portal for exactly this type of crime and the contacted the relevant police force who then contacted me by email and by phone after about a week or so. I was able to add extra details as and when I found them out with the kind help of Ferret. An officer was assigned to my case and kept me updated regularly by email and did phone me to clarify information and to arrange for my local force to visit me and take a statement. This was done within about 10 days of reporting Action Fraud. An arrest warrant was put out for the chap who ripped me off and he played a game of hide and seek with them for a bit before being caught and charged. A court date was made which he failed to appear leading to a little more hide and seek then an eventual arrest and another court date set. All of this has taken months and I have not yet seen a single penny back and when I do it may still take several months and even years for the full amount to be repaid.

My advice is to use Action Fraud, leave them to do the donkey work, help out the police all you can, and finally be willing to wait because you will have to.

Good luck and let me know if you need any further help or advice.

It's a shame there are so many dishonest people about no wonder I've had problems trying to sell my TW cue should have just said collection only far easier that way. Should have some kind of system in place for individual buyers had sellers to check the authenticity of the person like with the electoral roll and credit files I've had a bad experience with PayPal and know of others who've had worse so that is also very risky in my opinion.

Can we have a sticky in the for sale section for 'trusted sellers' where people can post on sellers behalf's with feedback of good sales. We have this on a forum I work as staff on and it's been a great success. Forum members can check out other users before they part with their hard earned cash. Just an idea as there is some great trading on here.

There is already something in place for this, ie check under my number of posts for my "feedback score", i think it only shows up when you are selling something, see here:
