No item listed on Gumtree or private advertising websites will be permitted from now on
You can only sell a item directly on TSF if you have been a member for 6 months or have over 100 posts
You can post a item for sale if you have not been a member for 6 months or do not have 100 posts but you have to list your item on eBay and post the link from the forum to your auction.
If you purchase a item on websites like Facebook or Gumtree and send someone money through electronic bank transfer then you have no protection against fraud, the same is correct for TSF but we do have a feedback score for people who trade in cues on TSF so it is advised that you only sell to people with positive feedback.
If you want to start trading cues on TSF but have no feedback simply list your item on eBay and post the link to your item on TSF, if someone from TSF purchases your cue then they can leave you feedback or you could always ask the person on eBay who purchases your item if they would like to sign up to TSF and leave you feedback.
IF you have been a victim of fraud
First thing to do is research before you contact the police.
You have a phone number which is not much use these days (I have 100 sim cards sat on my desk right now) but you can track which network it is on by using this spreadsheet - http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/numbering/s7.xls
You can trace a persons IP address by using this website http://www.geoiptool.com/
You can trace the the branch someone opened their bank account by entering their sort code here http://findsortcodes.co.uk/
You can also get someones IP address from a email if you know what you are looking for, best to do a google on that one something like "Find IP Address in senders email using {ENTR NAME OF YOUR EMAIL OR WEBCLIENT}"
The absolute best way to find someone by their email address is to simply type their email into the search bar on Facebook, this will then show you the profile associated with that email address.
You can also search for email address's using Google and that has often proved to be a good source of information.
Once you have done your research print out all communications with the person who has your money and take all of your research to the police, they can and will help you.
