As per John explanation , reason being it cost £450 is that the shafts for limited edition cues undergo same selection criteria and manufacturing process as ultimate/paragon cues hence higher price than standard £250 shaft . Although some well known cue makers would probably beg to differ and would not charge that much for the replacement / alternative shaft.

I was basing it on that you see shafts for sale for £10, he can re use the joint, ferrule only pennies, lol yeah a little bit of work splicing the ebony on, but £450 is just ridiculous, that's more than most of his cues
Maybe the price reflects the import charges from Thailand ehh

Could I ask how much the cue was brand new? I would say it's reasonable to say the shaft is the most important part, now I haven't got a clue if it's £400 important, but if it's a £600 cue, I would say £75 quoted by JRC is a bit optimistic lol.

I think the shaft looks ok actually, a lot better than most JP cues that's for sure

I'm my opinion it looks lovely. Certainly the straightest side grain I've seen on any ash cue I've come across.

I agree it's a very nice shaft, is it the blank underside you don't like Sanman?

If I remember it correctly ,7 - 8 years ago limited edition cues were sold for aprox £550 mark but I might be wrong.

I've seen this beauty in the flesh and it's a real cracker.....

Just a shame about the tip size from a snooker point of view, why is it pool players have all the luck!!

Cheers 147, that's a difficult one to judge, if you take in how inflated the price of his cues have become, and if he's basically saying you are getting an ultimate shaft, who knows.
