Stunning Tony Glover Cue - 3/4 - Incredible Ash Shaft - Very special cue!

This is without doubt the best Tony Glover cue I have ever had and I have had a few over the years.

This really is a lovely cue that plays superbly with lovely balance and a great responsive shaft. Tony really does source some of the most amazing ash available and this cue has a perfect looking shaft as well as being beautiful striking.

The butt is tightly figured chocolate brown macassar and is jointed at 14.5" with a unique chunky stainless steel joint and is butt jointed with the same butt joint that Jason Owen, Andy Travis, Martin Daly and others use so it they are pretty little joints and there are a great range of extensions available.

    Specs are:
    57.5" Long including tip
    9.18mm Tip
    18oz
    29.5mm Butt
    Balance Point at 16 inches.

Why don't Glover cues command better resell prices?

I had a Glover for 8 years and it was faultless. I'm waiting for one at the moment and it's costing me close to £500 with a selected shaft and I know it is going to be a great cue. Just seems a bit strange. His prices are not exactly cheap, you still have around a 6 month wait and his cues are on a par with all the other makers.

Lovely cue BTW and sorry for the thread hijack :snooker:

No problems at all mate, it is actually a compliment to this sale as without doubt Tony is up there amongst the best cuemakers and his cues are the biggest used bargains to be had. He does have the ability to find the very best ash available and this cue is a prime example of ash that looks the business and performs just as well :snooker:

From what I've seen on the Forum over the years, I think Tony's cues are under-priced. I've not had or seen one in person but from the reviews I've read and pics that I've seen, it's all the business.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

glover's work is one of the best out there IMHO and easily in the top 3 of cuemakers on the ones I've seen and played with.
The thing is many people are wrapped up in waiting times for cues, whats the betting if glover now turned round and told all his new customers that there's a 2 year wait, many would jump on that and throw him a deposit ASAP.

At the end of the day in many peoples eyes if a cuemaker takes a month to build you a cue he's crap and not worth bothering with,if a cuemaker shoves you to the bottom of the queue with a 2 year wait he's the best cuemaker out there.

Tony's finish is good but this one is better as I refinished this myself. Trevor gets the best finish, Robin, Dave, Mike and Tony are close and the rest tend to be much the same in my experience.

How do you finish your cue Stupree? What oil to you use? Do you use polish?

I use a wood turning friction polish on the butt and raw linseed oil in the shaft, using a high grade wet and dry (2000 grit) in between with linseed oil as the 'wet'.

Nice cue! Tony's second hand cue are always cheap. That's strange! I think just because of the business.
no doubt Tony is one of the best cuemake.
