Not that £3.7 is such a big investment, but why not go to your local office store and get a pencil sharpener for a few pence?

I did so and it works a treat.

as Douglas Adams once said ... "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family Anatidae on our hands" ...

in this case, I think we have a cue tip trimmer that looks like it'd be a good pencil sharpener ... or ... a pencil sharpener that is also good at trimming cue tips ... perhaps we need more debate to decide which it is or if it matters ...

Is there a youtube video of one of these being used? Would need to be very sharp to work without ripping the side of the tip to pieces. What safe guards it from scoring into the side of the ferrule and looking at the shape how is it possible to keep the sides of the tip parallel to the ferrule? surely its going to taper it towards the end.

There is one although it isn't mine here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch0ivDX2NCY

safeguards, basically don't be a moron using it (not directed at you, just in general). If you angle it then yes it will taper the tip and cut into the ferrule, but if you keep the cue against the straight edge of the blade (easily done) it works like a dream. You could always put some masking tape on the ferrule if you're worried
