Rare Joe Davis 2501 cue with Macassar ebony butt

Never seen one of these cues before with a macassar ebony butt ?
Also has a sideways weight stamp and the original fibre ferrule, a very unusual cue in very good condition. Plays very well considering the light weight.
58", 10.9 ferrule, 15.2 oz, 18" balance point, 30 butt

nor me - the only one i have seen i am pretty sure was a 146 or 147 with a replacement badge.

seen the side on ones before the machione spliced 2501 fitzroy is new to me.

Good spot that - all the Fitzroy badges cures I've ever seen have been machine spliced, anyone spotted a hand spliced one? Lots of these seem to have the bottom splices aligned between the top machine splices rather than in line with them too.
Like Andrew says a lot of naughtyness goes on with Joe Davis cues and badges because the 2501 is so common (cheap) and you can create convincing hand spliced versions of anything by adding a badge.
