I would highly recommend this book to any snooker fan. It is an honest and personal account by the legendary Joe Davis, on his life in the game. From when he was a boy growing up in his fathers pub in Whitwell, North Derbyshire; through to his days learning the trade as a billiard marker and player in the early 1920's; playing at the mecca, Thurston's Hall, London; his epic battles with billiards genius Walter Lindrum, his part in instigating the World Snooker Championships; his acts using a huge angled mirror at the London Palladium during WWII when he raised thousands and thousands of pounds for the war effort; his numerous overseas tours; finally his guest appearances on Pot Black in the 70's. He also gives his account of the best players of that time, Reardon, Spencer, Charlton and of course, Hurricane Higgins!

I am open to offers. PM me if you prefer.
