lol people are silly! you can still buy a new one for £175 i think! so if it goes over the £200 its sillier than parris - i notice a parris classic fetched more on ebay recently than you would pay if you walked into his shop!

Yes i noticed that aswel andrew, i think as far as the tony ions cues go they will be going up in value all the time, an investment so to speak.

I suppose the thing is when you buying off ebay you are getting it in days rather than months from a cuemaker as obvioulsy they are very busy all year.

So people will pay that bit extra to save them waiting on a list, and then when the cue comes the grain might be awful, where as on ebay WYSIWYG.

yes true enough, and the time it takes to wait for a wooldridge or a parris ultimate you might well have been killed in a traffic smash or lost your job or moved or even retired through old age!

Looking at Craftsman cues on fleabay and saw this (#220124418777) the link he gives shows hand-spliced models where his is machine spliced. Also it says 3/4 length and it is a 2 piece (50/50)

Didn't know the 'Elite' model was machine spliced

It's butt and 50-50 jointed actually but definately machine spliced in which case he did not pay what he said. Probably less than his buy it now price.
May well be a genuine elete one though, just that he asked for a machine spliced version to be made to keep the price down. Or its a 2nd shaft having busted the first even.

sent an ebay message about the cue (just out of interest) asking why its a two piece and machine spliced.. replied today.

hi, it is a helf/half cue, with the otion of screwing the butt off to put an extended butt on when using the rest. the standard version is helf as the website shows, but i requested they make it with 3/4 as well. my picture shows the actual cue iteslf, whereas the website is just a standard version.
                                cheers.
no mention of why its machine spliced
