This was Stephen Hendry's table, the greatest player ever to lift a cue and so the history does count for something. If you were to ask the majority of previous World Champions, they would all have played on this table at some point too. As previously mentioned, other tables with a connection to a top player fetch a lot more than £1000. There's not a more accomplished player than Stephen and he has a lot of fans around the world. I will be advertising elsewhere and if I don't get any decent offers for it I will just hold on to it. I've not got a set price, it will go to the highest bidder. Mark Williams had a guide price of £12k on his and I've been told it went for £14500. It all depends what people are willing to pay to own the table played on throughout most of the 7times World Champion's career. It could go to a private collector or a snooker club. Everyone loved getting the chance to lay on this table when it was up in the club, so it can be quite a draw for club owners in that way.
Anyone wanting to make an offer can PM me and I'll get back to them.
Just out of interest...is the is table the one from The Masters Club in Dennistoun, Glasgow? I played there several times around the late 80's early 90's and it was when Alan Mcmanus was based there (probably still is) and they used to hold the qualifying comp, for the B & H Masters there also. There was table number 1 there and the story went that it was the table that Stephen Hendry won his first World Champs on... supposedly bought for £7000 at auction??

If I had the cash and the space, I'd be very interested in this piece of snooker history! Good luck with the sale. Hope you get a decent price....

No, this table is from Spencers in Stirling which was the club that Stephen practiced in until it shut a few years ago. John Higgins has a table in The Masters.

Not any more. I believe he moved to the new `Q` Club in Glasgow where he has a Star table.

The table that Hendry originally had was a mismatch of frame and cushions. I know the fitter who worked for Rileys who sponsored Hendry at that time and they were horrified to find that the World Champion practised on a table which was made of one makers frame, another`s slates and yet anothers`s cushions. To make it worse they left the under table heating on and the frame apparently warped. Riley`s whipped it out and put in a Riley Aristocrat, which is what we are seeing advertised here.
