be very careful buying these, only from a seller you trust, a lot of copies out there - also avoid second hand as you would need a new cue ball anyway and they are not cheap.

both good advice. unsure if whats on ebay is much more of a bargain than buying them direct from a company, but ensure they are new and not imitations.

perhaps someone from here will remember this thread if the come across a set....

Thank you for your replies. I wasn’t aware that nowadays even Aramith balls are copied. However, I will check various online stores, preferably from members of this forum.

            Cheers,
            Daniel

moreso, cheap balls maybe not specifically copied, but then branded as Aramith

I wasn't aware that copied balls were a problem... how can you tell whether they are copies or not?

The attention to detail on the packaging and sales / authenticity leaflets is extremely good if the balls i received are fakes.

                  Look forward to any advice

its not an easy thing to tell if you don't know what you are looking at - buy from a seller you trust. this might help though - the trade price from aramith works out at £50 or so or about £50 plus vat from a uk supplier so factoring in a small profit for the retailer if they are any cheaper than about £70-£75 i would be careful.

It's very hard for people to tell.

Only when you play with them do you find out.

With so much stuff been copied in China it's easy to get had.
I bought a batch of Elk tips which were fake, I now only buy Elkmaster and Aramith products from one supplier I can trust.

One way to tell is look at the other items they sell, if this includes Chinese cues like the JP etc.. branded then you can guess where there tips and other accessories come from

My picture on Ebay is wrong box now you mention it Mike.

I should change it I guess

Would anybody in the know like to give me an appraisal of the seller (By PM might be better as its a public forum)

The seller sells peradon Cases but also sells 9-ball cues with naked ladies on them! Hence i am at a bit of a loss as to judge the authenticity. Their own website is http://www.phoenixcuesports.com/ they also run a snooker club and local competitions.

                              Cheers
