  • Old unused snooker balls

A set of 25 year old Aramith Tournament Champion balls are for sale at 1/3 the price of a new set. They are boxed and unused. Any thoughts on their quality degradation after 25 years?

Have you weighed them each? I doubt they would lose Amy mass sitting in a box for 25 years but that's the only real degradation anyone would care about other than maybe colour fading, but again without much daylight they should be the same grade colours as the day they were made.

I haven't bought them yet, was just asking the question before I make a move. I wasn't worried about weight loss and the images show them in perfect condition and colour and still in the original box (also in pristine condition). I wasn't sure if the phenolic resin would degrade over time and become brittle or introduce variable reactions when struck with the cueball
