For years that was ok but eventually I couldn’t really see the balls at the far end of the table. They were a bit fuzzy. Once I changed to Snookerspex I could see the end of the table ok.
There was a downside of course…..I can’t see really close up so if I wanted to look at my watch to see the time I would have to change my glasses. Also would need to change to my normal glasses when going to the bar to buy a drink. Checking for a touching ball is not possible without changing glasses. These things might not be a problem for you. Depends on how bad your eyes are to start with.
One other downside. You have to get used to taking them with you to the club and remembering to take them home with you. Have left mine in the club a few times. Mind you that’s not the problem with the glasses. Happens as well with my mobile phone lol.
Ha ha, thanks Nifty. Yes I had thought about those type of issues and probably why I've left it as long as I have. The other one that plays on my mind is if a mate walks in the snooker room and says hello, will i look up at him like a confused Curly Watts and think who the hell is that!! 😊

Mine are great for all vision apart from readers distance. So two feet and under I would say, as Nifty said I have to change my specs for close up.
I got specs because I was getting a headache after twenty minutes or so , now I can play for hours, I love them.
I didn't find it hard to adjust with the different vision and angles and that type of thing but I did have to tweak them a wee bit to stop them sliding down my nose, I just bent the legs a tiny bit and it keeps them nicely in place.
Keeping the buggers clean is a ball ache but I wasn't a glasses wearer so I'm not used to doing it.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

That happens to me... while playing without glasses I am used to blurry balls, but I cannot see the faces of the people in the room!

Thanks for your original post btw, it will keep my feet on the ground regarding miracle cures and finding a century break again! at the end of the day my latest sighting technique is working well.

Have a look at Kendrick’s spex. Looks like a DIY job but would work ok. Ordinary glasses pushed up a bit so assume they give close and distance vision.
