    The pro’s tip protector?

    Does anyone have any links (even to images) of the tip protectors the pros use? I know they probably vary, but my search results haven’t brought up anything I imagine the pros would use. These pop up everywhere in my searches but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the pros sliding these on the end of their cues.

          I don’t think they’re to stop the cue tips seeing anything…

          Oh, wait, I read that wrong… I think it’s just to stop the cue tip getting bashed against the inside of the case as it’s carried around.

            I always thought it was more to stop chalk dust marking and damaging the case interior

              Mostly against moisture, especially if you forget and leave your cue in the car overnight this time of year!

                  My cue came with one and i never saw a reason to use it other than avoiding to have chalk residue in the case.

                    I have a few. Couple were freebies from Crafsman and couple cost a pound each from Coutts Cues. Pretty easy to make a simple one from a piece of leather. The Coutts ones are pretty basic. No nice gold lettering.
