Changing thread on extension

Has anyone ever changed the external thread on their 'telecue' extension?

yes ....it is possible...2 nuts that fit the thread...screw on and tighten together...when tight use the bottom one to "unscrew the brass bit"

guy on ebay made me a new brass bit and posted for £5 ....uk of course

so that thread scews straight out of the plastic piece?
I was thinking i may have to remove that end plastic piece from the shaft and unscrew a nut from the inside or something.

yes it just uncrews...well at least mine did...not a regular looking thread just something to hold in place...pretty tight to start off...but comes out easy enough
