nothad a tip shape so easy for a long time when putting them on, ok needs a bit of elbow grease to get it started off but once you take the top sheen off teh tip they shape up superbly...

used it today for first time myself (filed from 10mm to 9.5) and boy are they a good feel when hitting the ball, and generated a hell of a lot more screw with it than i usually do with the blue diamonds....

(in fact once they go on sale will be purchasing a few to replace the BD's have "generously" used on my brothersd and dads cue hehe!!!)

not used elks or talismans, they are harder than a BD but hold the chalk a damn site better, and im finding i can get miles more control off the white with it

ive used BD's for years and the occasional diamond + tips and these **** all over them both

First of all- Thanks for the tips Andrew! Put one on yesterday and have to say as i was shaping it i was thinking these tips have been perfectly named Very high pitched sounding when you hit the ball that takes a bit of getting used to. Once you get past the sound they bite the ball very well and deliver every ounce you put into the shot as opposed to softer tips soaking up a lot of the energy like a sponge. When i was a kid i used to put tips on and round them down to the ferrul to get maximum feel from the shot- the downside to this was they only lasted two weeks max. These tips give that maximum feel on every shot without the fear of miscueing or slipping slightly, just enough to miss the pot or position. Very impressed

I missed this thread too ... Been meaning to order some from Stu.

I was surprised to hear that some pro uk pool players are using them too. Despite the hardness they grip the white well and offer a consistent hit. I'm looking forward to trying one.

How much really would you put it down to be being the tip?

sounds like the night winning the lottery I never thought one can made such a huge skip in skills - and I doubt it has to do anything with Andrew's tip regardless how fine they are
