Got to admit I'm now confident that these tips do have a future in the tip world

Hi ADR147,
I have received the tip yesterday, thank you so very much.
The tip looks to be very firm and well made. The side of the tip came very nicely burnished and pressed. The shape of the tip is domed and very symmetrical.
I have just installed it.
It is very easy to trim, and is very firm. Did not show any "hair' as would sometimes happen with Elk when I turn and cut it on a lathe.
From the way it is cut, I feel that it is about the same in terms of firmness as talisman S, may be just a tiny bit firmer.
Very easy to work with, and seems to be a much more consistent tip than Elk master.
I noticed that it is not blue like blue diamond or elk master, but rather more like a dark brownish, like a triangle. I guess it is made from buffulo hide but without any chalk infused into the leather?
It is only 10mm, but still have a lot of "meat" on the top for me to work with. I like it as it allows me to shape it anyway I like and still have a good thickness remaining on the tip afterwards. Some pressed tips I have tried before were a bit too thin so if I want the shape to be very pointy the side woudl become very thin.
I do not know how well it holds chalk as I have not tried it yet.
I will go and try it out in a couple hours, and will ask other players in my club to give me their feedback as well. Will report back later.

you will find you use about half as much chalk as you do with a BD or elkmastr with these tips has the best chalk retention of a tip i have seen!!!

if yer a heavy chalker (like me) yer might yer leave chalk lines on the table like i am doing with this.

Hi,
I did not have much time to try the tip out, only hit some balls for about an hour, but I did get my friends in my club to try the tip out as well a few hours later.
I think this tip hits good.
It does hit a bit firmer than a Talisman soft, but the feedback is nice and the chalk stays on very well. I do not have to work hard at all to move the cue ball around with both top and bottom and stun shots. No miscues at all. Very easy to control the cue ball. I was expecting a rock hard hit but it is not like that at all.
I do notice that the tip has mushroomed a bit. Talisman would not in my experience does that after an hour.
I have let other decent players in my club try the tip, along with my other cue with talisman tip. Almost everyone reported that they like both, with a bit more preference on Talisman.
Without seeing a lot of them I cannot say how consistent these tips are, but the one that I have tried for about an hour hitting balls by myself exceeded my expectation. Other players also seemed quite happy, but not overwhelmed. That could be because they were not used to it and they did not try it on theor own cues.
From my limited experience so far, I would say it is a very ncie alternative to Talisman M, without the high price tag and the risk of delamination. But this tip may mushroom a bit easier than a layered tip.
I will try to trim the tip and then hit some more balls and report back.
That is my totally honest feedback on the tip so far.

lol i don't know about, that but in general better players prefer harder tips.

Just put the second freebee on a different cue. This tip was taller than the first and is a softer hit. Both play very well. It looks like i may have had both extreme's in my free tips and have now bought more.

andrew, had some feedback from my club and im wondering if i can get a discount for a bulk order

they all absolutely love the tip and want them on thier own cues - they use BD or elkmasters usually, there is one with a woolridge tip and (sorry mike) they prefer the GBL to the woolridge....
