been using this tip for a week now and it is just a little bit to hard for me , it does sound very different than elks , and does take quite a bit of getting used too sound wise !! but for those looking for a talisman like tip at less than a 1/4 of the price then i would say the pro granite is deffo the way to go ,, playing wise it has great feel for such a hard tip and far easier to work the cueball with spin and side but it can sound high pitched when playing with side and top / screw ,, i am used to playing with the dull thud of an elkmaster tip so i found it hard to adjust , but for those using talisman soft u prob wouldnt notice the difference on the cue but deffo in the pocket !!!!! just out of curiosity andrew do they do them in 10.5 and 11mm as i like to play with a mushroom tip , and my ferrule is 9.75 with a 10mm elk it spreads out into a nice mushroom but with the pro granite it did not spread at all !!!!!! so 10.5mm would be worth another try or 11mm to trim slightly ,,, but i can imagine this tip being a very big seller ,,,,,,,,

I have been playing with a hard talisman now for about a week (4 hours a day) and i must say i find it very good..i just cant get over the amount of control when close in and around the black area...also the back spin is unreal ! sounds strange but the softer you hit the cue ball then the more the back spin takes on the white...yet to try a granite tip but when i do i shall post the comparison..

OK so ive tested the tips, they came in the mail yesterday, and i tested them today. I played both snooker and 8 ball pool with them, and i think they're fantastic. Theyre really responsive, and they grip the ball heaps. I normally use elk's myself, but this is a really nice change. ive used talisman before, but i find they dont grip the ball that well when i needed to hit softer, and i miscued a fair bit with the talisman, didnt seem to hold chalk that well, but that could be because the tip was bald. Not only do these hold chalk well, but they keep shape really well. havnt had to reshape it or rough the tip up again, its still holding chalk after 3 hours of play.

im really loving the amount of spin and power i can get, from a simple cue through with these. i get half table length backspin with ease on a snooker table now, when i use to hav trouble getting any at all playing with the elk. ive also tried blue diamond, found them to be really inconsistent, and the fibre of the tip always came apart.

i think im going to stick with these tips for a while. i doubt anything better will come along, although i do plan to order a pack of MW supertips from ADR. give those a try too.

one question for ADR147 aswell, do you do discounts for bulk orders of these tips? maybe less for shipping if i buy more than one pack(to australia)? down here, everyone pretty much uses a elk master, rarely do you see a player using anything different. i might pass some around to some of the better players, get their opinion on it. i think they might like it, cause they like talismans, but arent ready to pay the price for it. =]

my overall opinion, its a great tip thats worth every cent. gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Well i would like one of these tips on my new cue im getting although i think they already come with a tip on. The only trouble is, i wouldnt dare mess about trying to re-tip a new cue as im useless at it

Just received my tips Friday, and tried it down at the club for 1 hour, I've put it on a new 1 piece ash cue, plays alright, although initially it felt spongy, maybe I had the tip too thick (need to shape it down more) or maybe because there's so much getting used to (new cue and tips), but still hits the ball quite good for a new tip, will try it again when I get a chance...

btw,I'm still waiting for my positive feedback from ebay!!!

Put one of these granite tips on earlier and went for a few frames, just got back...

First thing i noticed is how reactive these tips are......

I was expecting the tip to be a much firmer and harder hit than it is, a few people have said they are very hard, i did'nt find it too hard tbh, might be because it's massive at the mo and still could do with some filing down.

The reaction on the cueball is totally different to what i'm used to...(BD).. strikes the ball nicely, does what you want it to a treat, especially in/around the pack, it just bites into the cueball, theres much more action on the cueball with less effort... easier to get a bit of action on the cb on the more delicate/softer shots...

i have been using mike woolridge super tips for almost a year now ( does it get any better than a mw super tip? ),im more than happy with them,i dont think i want to change.
