Yes i think so,had no problem with them before and i do think they are better than anything out there at the moment ,,may try another in the future ,, going to try the tip i have recieved from andrew ,, it might be a good compromise

i wouldnt use one for anything, except the breaking cue for english pool. they should be marketed for that purpose. absolutely awesome, especially on a small tipped light cue. they really dont hold the chalk well, as someone says, they require much maintainence. i used one at yarmouth in feb, i had to use the blue chalk, as i think it holds to that tip better. if looking for a better tip thats hard but allows feel an grip, then i think the granite pro (as someone said, greenbiaze) (7.50/5) i tried one on a snooker cue, (i dont play) let a 100+ player use it, he liked it. says he may even change, although hes never used anything other than elk all his life.

i bought them from coutts cues off ebay ,, i think i have just been unlucky as he is a highly regarded cue maker accessories seller,the first one(talisman soft) delaminated and he replaced it and the second one did the same so just binned it and went back to using elkmaster ,, just unlucky i guess but like i said at 6 quid each its annoying ,, i fitted them as i would any other ,,both surfaces clean and flat,i play with the tip slightly overhanging anyway so no need to trim the sides and if it needed shaping sand downwards only ,,

Why buy Talisman from a second party? Get them straight from Talisman, Tony is extremely helpful and if you've got a problem with his tips, I'm sure he'd be happy to make it right for you.

I use a Porper Mushroom Grazer to trim tips to the width of the ferrule. It works very well, and will even trim oversize tips down the correct size without damaging the ferrule.

Years ago I was retipping quite a few pool cues. I would say that 80% of the people requested Le Pros. I found that they were similar to EM in the reliability department. Out of a box of 50 there were perhaps only 10 excellent tips.
Here is Muellers findings on the hardness of different tips.
Elkmaster – 60.1, Blue Knight – 61.2, Bruns. Blue Diamond – 61.4, Dudley(Milk Dud) – 73.6, Le Pro - 78.2
Talisman S – 64.3, M – 73.9, H – 81.4, XH – 86.2,
I have a Milk Dud on one cue and a Talisman S on another. I am quite impressed with the Milk Dud, but it is hard to go wrong with a Talisman S (if installed properly).

Why buy Talisman from a second party? Get them straight from Talisman, Tony is extremely helpful and if you've got a problem with his tips, I'm sure he'd be happy to make it right for you.

I use a Porper Mushroom Grazer to trim tips to the width of the ferrule. It works very well, and will even trim oversize tips down the correct size without damaging the ferrule.

The black thumbscrew on the top of the Grazer acts like a depth gauge, you set it for the depth of the tip and cut the sides of the tip away without marking the ferrule.



Keeping in mind that the Grazer is made for cues with larger tips than are used in Snooker, you still have to be careful. But, I think it's a lot more precise than sawing away on a tip with an X-acto knife.

Currently using a Talisman medium on my cue and it feels great,just the right amount of give,i currently retip a lot of cue for people and 90% ask for blue diamond plus as they just seem to feel more consistent,saying that...had a few recently that were not much good too soft and no feel.
Have tried lepro and always found to be hard as rock,not very forgiving when not cueing very well!
Recently put a Moori medium on one of my spare cues and it feels really good,also tried it on snooker table with no problems.
All in all the tip has to really be matched to the cue and the style of play in my own personal experience and experimentation.
Hercules layered tips are good for both pool and snooker,very similer in feel to talisman medium and hold chalk well(green triangle)
And just got hold of some triangle tips which also feel good,although do seem to fray a lot round the edges when bedding in even after burnishing!

I've used both a Talisman soft and medium, and I like Talisman tips. My cue tip is 9.5mm so I'm using 10mm tips and trimming them down to size. Because you have to be careful trimming a Talisman to avoid delamination, I actually talked to Talisman before I purchased the Grazer. I wanted to make sure that the tool wouldn't cause any problems - Tony said the Grazer would work well and it does.
