Snooker balls

I see we have tables, cues and accessories. Do snooker balls constitute an accessory? I would have thought they were more than that.

Recently I washed my snooker balls using warm water with dish washing liquid. (Guys dishwashing liquid is something girls use. It's sort of a detergenty thing). They are now much cleaner than they were. The cue ball looks a lot better but they have lost their shine. Is it just a case of sitting and polishing them or is there a short cut? Does it matter whether they shine or not?

Shouldn't use soap when you clean them as it removes all the oil that has gotten into the pores and allows the balls to grip each other more easily. You should just wipe them down with a damp cloth.

You will find you will be getting more kicks than normal, even on dry days.

Not that I would disagree with Terry, but I reckon the Aramith ball cleaning cream would be able to replenish those balls.
I have brought some balls back to life for a club recently, and to be honest, it worked a treat.
