  • Fibreglass cases from ebay

Hi just wanted to let you guys know what happened when I bought one of the fibreglass cases from eBay.
When I received the case it was well protected in bubble wrap, one I removed the wrap the case looked good I was happy. Until I turned the case over and looked at the bottom I couldn't believe the marks and scores on the bottom of it, and remember this case was supposed to be brand new.
I contacted the seller and he asked me to send him a few pictures of the case witch I did, he then asked me was their any damage to the bubble wrap, which there wasn't so it wasn't done in transit.
This is went he now said that I had made the marks and scores on the case even know I never had the case out of the house.
He refused to send me his address so I could return the case to him for a refund. I then said to him I would be happy to keep the case if he refunded me some of the money. Which he said no.
Now I have to go do the road of a paypal dispute to get some of my money back. But I wont be holding my breath!!!

    Cheers Darren

I even done him a favor by doing the transaction outside ebay to avoid the fees (silly me) so i have no come back with ebay but hopefully paypal will sort it out.

Will PayPal sort it out even although the transaction was not through E-Bay?
I know E-Bay own PayPal, don't think they will be too happy if all the details come out when you claim.

Yes just got sorted. Paypal offered me a full refund but i would have to send the case back at my own expense!
so seller and i came to an agreement after many e-mails and i will receive 50% back of the price of the case. Its funny how he agreed so quickly when paypal came to a decision in my favor.
To be truthfull the case is good quality just a pitty it came with the marks and scores on it.

Well that was quick work on paypals behalf, pleased you got sorted mate - and now got a half priced case
When i had a cue go missing in the post once, i couldn't even start the claim until 15 working days had passed, and then took about 2 weeks to pay up.

darren When I heard about these fibreglass cases I thought that one of the benefits was that they wouldn't scratch? looks like I was wrong so what's the benefit over say aluminium?

Hi Darren i missed this thred as its not on the main board . Well im glad you had some sort of satisfactory outcome , even though it would benn a lot better and easier if this geezer was honest from the off .

I was seriously considering one of these as you know but your experience has put me right off .

Think i,ll go with aluminium . Why are these threads not on the main page anymore ? .
