From limited experience of BD, MW super tip, Talisman and Pro Granites i'd recommend these and the Pro G.

Thanks Airin cracking tip just need one of your cues to acompany it, let me know if you have any cue samples you want testing .
Thank you very much. Appreciate it.

I managed to try out these tips this week. Firstly the placing, cutting and shaping were simple and I was well impressed. The next day I had an hours line up practice and found the first 15 mins the tips were responsive, holding the chalk very well and keeping shape, but for the rest of the session the tips got progressively less response, even though the chalk holding was good. The next day I practiced breakbuilding around the black spot and right from the start was getting no response. It seemed like wherever the white was struck, ie backspin, top, or stunrun, the outcome was always a stun. I filed this tip down a layer and tried again but still no joy. At my club that night, a friend summed it up perfectly by saying "it feels like playing with an empty plastic tube on the end". I had to borrow a cue for the match that night.
Hopefully I have just been unlucky and this is a one off defective tip and the next one I try will be ok. I shall let you know.
Sorry for the bad feedback Airin but just trying to be honest.

maybe not a good bond between tip and cue?

Thank you for your honest feedback.

I am sorry that you are having problem with the new tip you have put on. I hope you did manage to win your match that night.

Do you have a picture you can show me of the tip, please? I take all feedback very seriously and I would really like to understand what happened.

I need your help to understand it though as I must admit I have never heard anything like this about a tip causing all shots to become a stun whether it was screw, top, or stun run through; although I am really trying to figure out what the problem might be I am quite confused here. Like what ADR said, my first response was may be something was loose. Did you check the ferrule? Is there any funny sound when you hit the ball?

Sounds like there might be no connection between your cue and your tip--my second response was if the layers have seperated.(I do offer an unconditional 100% free warranty against de-lamination) I assume you must have checked that as well.

Usually if a tip is not responsive the player would feel that he is not getting as much screw and/or side as he could with another tip; however, to get nothing but only stun no matter what you try to put on is indeed very strange--especially when you reported that chalk was staying on very well.

If the glue bond is not tight or if the layers are loose, you should feel like the power you put into the shot is lost somewhere along the way and may also miscue a lot. It usually would give out a funny sound as well.

Regardless, I would be more than happy to send you a replacement tip at no charge as I do want you to be 100% satisfied with your Aurora tip.

I would appreciate it if you could please send me a couple pictures of the tip to my email (auroracues at aol dot com) if you dont mind.

Thank you once again for your honest response and your interest in my tips.

HI Pool Junkie i tried the tip yesterday and the tip is very good similar to a talisman tip but a little softer You can put a lot of english on the cue ball and the chalk holds good on the tip. My friend Alain Robidoux has not tried it yet as he plays with a elk Master tip and will be playing in the Hafa Snooker Tournament in Hamilton Ontario on Oct 20 to Oct 24 with the likes of Cliff Thorburn Kirk Stevens Floyd Zeigler John White for details go to the following web site at www.snookerline.com will let you know what Alain Robididoux thinks of your Aurora cue tip cheers Leonard

Thank you very much for your feedback. Appreciate it. Are you using your new Aurora tip on your Gauthier cue?
Thank you for the link to the tournament. I saw the names of all the best players in Canada, such as Bob Chaperon, Kirk Steven, Cliff Thorburn, Alain Robidoux...and also our very own Terry Davidson!
Will they have any videos or streaming on line? I wish I was there, you have to tell us all about it afterward.

Sorry for being a little tardy in my review, but I wanted to make sure I gave the tip a thorough test. First of all, to get to the bottom line, I like the tip. However, in reading the reviews, I think there may be some quality control issues still in place because it doesn't feel like I am reviewing the same tip that other people have tried.

I removed my PG tip and put the Aurora tip (G side down) on my spare cue. Trimming with the exacto knife was ok - about what you would expect. However, there was no way in h... that this tip was going to be rough shaped with 240 grit paper or a nail file. I would have been there all day. I had to resort to 80 grit paper and even that wasn't overly fast. Once it was close to shape, I was able to change over to the file and the file worked better then. It was almost like there was too much glue on the top or something like that, but that initial shaping was difficult.

My Aurora tip is hard. At least as hard as my PG and significantly harder than my MW Super tips that are on my other cue. She is also very loud. Everybody knows when I have taken a firm shot. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

It definitely puts a lot of spin on the ball. Significantly more than the MW pressed tip.

Holds chalk ok, I wouldn't say great - I chalk before every shot, however, so that is not an issue.

Doesn't change shape after repeated power shots, so that is clearly a good point.

I like this tip enough that I am going to buy another one and put it on my MW cue.

                          Cliff

                            Hi Cliff,
                            Thank you for your feedback.
I decided to work with a Japanese manufacturer because they are known for producing top notch laminated pig skin tips with great consistency for many years.
When you send out as many tips as I have to many players of different skill levels, to different continents with different climates--to see them being used on different tables, different cloth, with different set of balls, being put on many different cues--you should expect to get a very wide variety of feedback. "Feel" is a very subjective matter so it really depends on the person--and also his experience with other tips he has tried in the past--when he makes his comparison and evaluation
Anyway, I am so glad to hear that you like your Aurora tip.
Thank you for your interest, I have replied to your email.
                            Cheers,
