    Hello Airin.
Unable to take a snapshot of the tip mentioned ealier as I replaced it Monday morning and threw it away. (sorry) Checked the bonding and layers while doing this but didn't see anything wrong with either
Like the last tip found the cutting and shaping relatively good. Had a few frames with the new tip, but what a difference in response and feel to the last one tried, especially the short screws and runs around the black. Only a couple of hours use of this tip at the mo but well impressed so far.
The only way I can explain the difference would be that this tip grips the white with a click, while the last tip knocked the white with a clunk. Hopefully some of this makes sense and apologies for not giving you more on the last tip.

PS Lost last weeks match to a lot better player. I would have needed a Fedia wand to have been in with a chance.

ok im gna be straight up! when i first put this tip on, it actually came off. splitting at the bottom layer of the tip. im not sure if it was due to how i treated it while putting it on or whether my blade wasnt sharp enuff, but i normally put on laminated tips without a problem. anyways, i put it on, turned it upside down, trimmed it clean with a craft knife, very sharp new blade aswell. didnt hav a problem cutting it. after i cut it tho i noticed a slight gap in the leather on the bottom layer. thought id ignore it a bit. anyways in short, while tampering with it, n shaping it, it came looser n looser, and it split at the layer. very cleanly tho. i still had the remainding 4 layers. i then put the tip on as if it was a 4 layer tip. heres the verdict:

Very responsive tip, didnt need much playing in at all. could get really good reaction deepscrew wise. feels great. probly a touch softer than im use to, but the fact i got along with it so well is definitely a bonus in my books! only problem i had was, it throws a touch more than a pro granite on my cue, when cueing with side long distance. but that cld be the fact ive only had it on for a few days. i like the reaction and work it gets, really good, but i cant get a feel for shots as well. like under or over hitting. but that sorta thing id just hav to get use to wen trying a new tip. ive been playing with pro granites ever since they came out see.

chalk retention and grip is great. no miscues. tip has a good feel compared to other laminated tips ive tried. really liked it. definitely going to buy some more and recomend it to friends. whether or not ill use it is another matter. definitely giv it a try for a while since all pool n snooker seasons here r pretty much done

overall: a great tip! try it out, even if youre not a fan of laminated tips! well dont airin. keep up the awesome work

I will officially launch the new Aurora tip in a couple days. I was supposed to do it on 1st Oct but I was all out after a UK cue maker purchased 40 tips (a tin) from me. Plus I have been quite occupied with making cues lately.

I like to mention that I also offer an unconditional warranty against de-lamination--it is 100% free with postage paid if your Aurora snooker tip ever de-laminates.

If you have any question, please email me at auroracues at aol dot com

Thank you for all the feedback, appreciate them.

            Good Day, PoolJunkie,

I received my Aurora cue today from Terry. It's a very well made cue, I was a little worried about the weight 9.2 oz, I played with it tonight and was very impressed, the cue is so well balanced it feels like a 17 oz cue, also I usually lightly sand all my cue shafts, I did not need to do this with your cue, the finish was very smooth. The gabon on gabon ebony wood joint makes this cue unique and a solid player (a real huslers cue). The Ash you used reminded me of my Brunswick 1 peice Titlest that is about 60 years old, dark brown, lots of chevrons and as straight as the day it was made. I believe Terry skillfully formed one of your Aurora tips for this cue, I have been playing with Kamui black Medium, I am going to be ordering some of these from you in the future, they play great, I like a tip that I can get down low on the cueball and shoot softly at close range, without miscue, this tip and cue combo does it for me. I am extremely happy with my purchase. You are deffinately a master cue maker. I will cherish this cue for years. Keep up the good work.

              Hi Rolly.
Thank you so much for the feedback and compliment. Nothing makes me more happy than hearing positive feedback from a customer.
The ash that was used on your cue was very old. Speaking of Brunswick, I had a few Titlist myself, but they were maple. I have never had an ash Titlist myself.
About keeping the shaft smooth, I suggest that you wipe your cue with a dry towel from time to time, and I woudl also recommend you oil your cue may be every two months with raw linseed oil to keep the wood conditioned. Just please make sure you use a very thin coat and do not leave any excess on the surface of the cue after half an hour. After it is dried, buff the shaft up with a clean dry towel to help the oil to cure. I would not recommend you to sand the shaft down as a sealant/filler was put on the shaft. Alcohol, acetone, or other chemical addictive may stop the oil from curing properly.
If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me at auroracues at aol dot com.
              Thank you very much.

                    • Dave Coutts first ordered 10 Aurora tips from me--he tried it and liked it and then placed an order of a tin of 40.

I really appreciate his business so just want to post a link here.

Also, I figure buyers should be informed of anyone dealing with the Aurora snooker tips in the UK.

There will be more dealers coming up shortly.

I am just waiting for a new batch as I am out again.

                      Thank you.

                      • Airin, I fitted my Aurora tip last night.
It was a piece of cake to trim down. Much easier to cut than a Talisman.
                        Shaped easier too.
I will give it its first hit today after work and hopefully it will play as good as it looks.
                        Thanks mate.

                          • Well the aurora is quite possibly the best tip I have ever had on a cue. Awesome response from the very first hit. Backspin is gonna take some adjusting...its way too easy. You're on a winner with them Airin.

                              • I had 2 separate sessions (total 6 hours) of play with the new tip.

Felt that the tip was on the soft side initially when 1st put on but it seasoned to a consistent hardness after a couple of hours. Found it just nice. Good grip on the cue ball and holds chalk well. Easy to screw the cue ball back within my limited range of ability. Easy to cut and shape. Maintains shape well.

                                I agree with Barracuda911, I think PQJ's got a winner here.
