Old Thurston Extension

I purchased this extension some time back and I’m wondering if someone can date it. It looks to pre date any use of extensions that I have seen. When it first arrived, it was by far, the dirtiest piece of wood I have ever seen. So much so that it was black in color, with the signatures hidden.

The badge is post-1940. Wouldn't like to speculate on the rest of it, but if it was made/converted before 1980 I would be surprised.

Thanks for the info. From the amount of filth that was on it, it must have been stored on the floor under the table.
