    Keith:

Where do you buy the Buffalo tips? Are they American pool tips? Do they come in 10mm or 11mm?

I've never seen any over here but I would like to get a few and try them out

      Terry,

You can get them on any snooker or pool site, I think, but the best person to get in touch with is ADR, of course. I've seen them in snooker sizes: 9mm and 10mm but I'm not so sure about 11mm. Once again, ask Andrew. If anyone'll know, he will.

I've got some at the mo I could send you, but I think they'd be too small for you as they're for my 8.25mm pool cue. However, I'll check and PM you if I have any bigger than 9mm, ok?

although saying that, this new one isnt doing that...

maybe i was unlucky and had a bad one...
Yeah, you must have been very unlucky with that one cos I personally find'em pretty consistent :snooker:

Then I went on to Buffalo Diamond Plus tips, which I have found to be perfect - enough elasticity to generate power, but firm enough to give the 'feel' we want in a tip, and no problems with chalk-holding for as long as I've used them. Another great thing is their consistency - in a box of 50, you get minimum 45 - 50 tips the same, which is how it should be.

I used to play with Blue Diamonds in the 80's, and loved the feel of those tips, but since then the quality and consistency've gone right downhill, so I switched to Elks. The main problem with them is that there's no consistency in a box of Elks at all, and while if you do find a good one, it's a super player, you have to find it first!

I've tried Master cue tips, and found them very good, but a tad too hard for me - however, if you like a harder tip which comes with that bedded-in feel then go for them, they're also of consistent quality. I can say the same for the new Pro Granite tips sold by Green Baize - too hard for me, but a really good quality, consistent tip. I've had loads of really good feedback about them from both snooker and English pool players.

As far as I'm concerned, then the Buffalo Diamond Plus tip is the best on the market at the moment, but you really do have to try them all to find out what suits your game.
Thanks for the feedback regarding the Master & the Pro Granite tips, Keith

I'm yet to try'em but from what you've described, I feel they will suit me cos I prefer the medium to hard feel when it comes to the tip:snooker:

No worries, if that's the sort of tip you like, then I'm pretty sure you'll like either or both of these ones. :snooker:

P.S. I agree with your post about Mike's tips - they are generally very consistent, and not spongy at all.
