I´ve tried a triangle tip once. Wasnt too hard, wasnt to soft, but still not the right response to me. Until i start playing with kamui black mh i prefered the Mastercue tips.
Bought a box of 50 tips in bangkok in 2008. I have a lot left. If someone is interested to get some for chicken feed pm me.

I have recently tried a new pressed tip from brother 4. You may want to ask him about it.

Really like the Kamui , not too hard not too soft . Holds its shape very well . Virtually no time needed to break in at all . Not mis-cued yet either .
I think they are just slightly better than the MW Supertip , which is also a very good tip .
I was playing someone on Monday night who has had one on for 2 months amd finds it a bit hard . I will let you know if it changes at all during time .

              Thanks

              Neil

I would like to try a few different types of tips but find that their just to expensive. Who is the cheapest supplier of tips?
Can some post a link please.

If you have spend 100 GBP on a cue, 10 GBP is 10 % of the total cost of your cue; if you have spent 500 GBP on your cue, 10 GBP is 2% of the total cost of your cue.

Most people would not hesitate to get a mini butt and a SD joint installed, which they may use only once a game and cost much more than the most expensive tip in the world-- but they would not want to spend from as little as 2% to 10% of their total cue cost to get a tip which they use on every single shot, although a good tip is paramount in helping a player to win frames.

If you buy a box of cheap tips in order to try many of them until you get one that you like, you are going to waste a lot of time. Depending on who does you tip, you also risk damaging your cue/ferrule during the process. Everytime you take the tip off, you may take away a bit of wood and brass. You may leave a bit of glue on the ferrule that needs to be cleaned up, the guy might sand your ferrule down a bit making it smaller and smaller...

When you do find one that you like, there is no guarantee you can find another one which hits the same a few months later unless you know how to select a good one--but if you do you wont be trying out a whole box to begin with.

All these extra time, risk, and trouble also come at a cost.

Oh, I've tried a Le Pro tip - hated it!! I found it way too hard for UK pool or snooker, and really hard to chalk. It didn't seem to have any porosity at all.

I've seen triangle tips, but I didn't buy any as they felt too hard for my likes. They had no give in them at all, like a Le Pro.

                            Hope this helps!

P.S. If I were to recommend a tip it'd be the Buffalo Diamond +. I love that tip!
Sorry for the late reponse. I got so excited about putting on the buffalo diamond plus that i sliced my finger while putting on the tip (smart!)....which forced me to delay playing with the new tip a few more days later in order to let me finger recover...

nonetheless, i managed to put a diamond +

a few thoughts. I find them are slightly harder than MW super tips, but not as hard as the pro granite tips.

its got all the characteristics of a good tip. holds chalk, responsive to all shots consistently. and easy to cut.

a comment i would add, and im not sure of this........ it seems to me that the diamond plus is a tall tip. maybe its my hallucination. but absolutely no biggie. you can always sand it down, if you dont like the idea of a tall tip.

i thought this is a very good purchase, since i bought a box of 50 for about 40gbp i think. on a per tip basis, its cheaper than the pro granite and the MW super tip. it plays better than the elk and the old blue diamond.

bottomline is that its not a bad tip to play with, and has satisfied its owner. good stuff.
