  • play in talisman

hi all, i have ordered a talisman pro soft,i have never used a layered tip before. i have looked on all the posts about them on here and it seems they need a playing in period before they settle. how many frames approx would you say it takes? as i don't want to bin it prematurely if it doesnt feel right at the start.but how soon will i know?

thanks mate, i will give it a go,i have used elks and bd but it seems to be pot luck if you get a good one, i tend to like a soft tip so a bit worried that the talisman will be to hard for me, but thanks to your advise i will now know how long to give it, but i would guess it will get harder with time which doesn't really suit me.

        Talisman Tip

First time i tryed a TALISMAN i used a (M) but found it way to hard. So i got (S) i could'nt recomend a better tip, They do take a bit of getting used to. Fit them then forget Worth the switch, Regard's George:snooker:

ive just got in from work and the tip has arrived, i have just super glue geld it on, it is now in the clamp,it was a bit tricky to line it up as it is a 10mm and my cue is about 9mm,i don't think i will be doing any trimming as it looks fine.i am going out to play pool in 3 hours time ,do you think it will be ok to use? or should i leave it to stick longer? I'm a bit impatient to use it.:snooker: also should i scuff the tip a bit at first to hold the chalk? thanks.

No need to clamp with superglue , just put pressure on for around 15 sec .

I would ccuff the tip a bit as it holds the chalk better , just a coulple of rubs from the middle of the tip downwards and turn the cue to scuff the entire tip .
