having used the 0.98 my experiences are...
you can get blue marks on the white, especially if you are in the habit of chalking your tip often, which to be honest most of us are. This problem gets worse if the white isnt perfectly clean to start with.
there are exceptional amounts of grip using this chalk, but you reach a point where over chalking creates the blue cueball problem and underchalking you can still miscue, this creates more of an issue for me than anything as you find yourself concentrating far too much on the amount of chalk you have on your tip.
This chalk in my opinion has gone a little too far on the grip concept of chalk and a compromise would be ideal....
personally i cant wait to try the new kamui chalk which apparantly addresses these issues and is a great compromise.

Greetings All from Australia.
I have been using the 0.98 for two and a half months ( with a Kamui MH tip on a J.P. Ultimate ) now and I love it !!
Yes it will mark the cue ball if you apply it in the same way as you would standard chalk and my solution to this is to chalk up once every 10 or 12 shots. I apply the chalk very gentley and sparingly its almost like applying a cream, you really don't need much at all and
I still pretend to chalk before every shot as this action helps me to prepare mentally for the shot. For those of you with your own tables it leaves hardly any residue on the cloth.
Last weekend I played 23 consecutive medium screw shots before I misscued.
Comparing it to standard chalk is a bit like comparing talcum powder to sandpaper.
On the questionof price ?
Well I am happy to make my lunches bread and lettuce sanwiches for a week." Cues are like girlfriends, once they become an EX I don't want them hanging around ".

thats the problem though, using chalk is not a competition to see how many shots you can play before you misscue, fact is you dont wangt to misscue at all...and as for pretending to chalk your cue that to me is just a nonesense that is taking your mind off the game, chalking your cue should be a thoughtless process.hopefully the newer compound will be an improvement but not had chance to use it yet.

I have been using the Kamui chalk for a few weeks now, I must admit I play with a few different cues depending on my mood, also I play mostly 8 Ball and only play snooker on the odd occasion. I like the Kamui chalk I find it works very well on laminated tips more than the elks I have on some of my cues. The likes of elks and BD hold triangle chalk well enough and I dont think there is a massive leap with the Kamui chalk. However I feel layered tips are some what different and this is where Kamui chalk comes into its own.
