cue case making

[hatterboard]

am toying with the idea of trying to make me own 1 piece slim cue case from wood. anyone with any experience of such, or ideas about making templates would be appreciated.
i would possibly be looking at making it out of a more decorative wood, anyone have any ideas where such wood could be purchased from in the right type of length.

any helps would be very grateful
