Plain vs channelled/formed foam: at one club I go to the only surface to lay a 3/4 or 1pc case down (apart from the floor) is a shelf-like structure that is not flat to discourage placing of pints. The angle is such that if the foam is not channelled/formed the cue could roll-out upon opening of the case
