It's actually a pressed tip, i.e. not a laminated tip.

Putting on the tip and shaping it was a cinch... took me just 5 minutes to affix it and to get it ready for play. So good news for folks who do their own tips.

As with all new tips, I kind of packed it in somewhat by gently tapping it down with a ball after shaping. Tried to warm up to the tip by potting some loose reds with colours around the pink/black spots for around 30 min before setting up and playing power stuns/screws for another 15 min.

It did lose a bit of shape after the continuous power shots. Touched up a bit and after that, it stayed in shape pretty well for a pressed tip. Also, I need not take much height off the tip for it to play well, unlike some Elks.

Found the tip to be softer than a Talisman soft but harder than MW super tips. Felt like I can play with it, which bodes well for its future. The tip held the chalk well too, as well as a Kamui or Progranite. But I somehow can't play with those two.

Had another 2 hrs of matchplay with it. The match went rather scrappy and although I lost 3-1, I found that I quite liked the tip.

I will probably leave it on until I lose badly in a match or have a horrid practice session and want to find me a scapegoat... in other words, next week... LOL.

All in all, I would say it is a good, consistent tip. Worth a try.
When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back. GET MAD!!

Had another few hours with the tip Today and am really liking them ,very similar to phoenix medium just a little more solid or less springy . The chalk retenetion with the dark green triangle chalk is great . pity they are not available over here .

Found out that air mail postage to the UK is not that expensive, only RM 5 (est. 1 GBP) per 100 grams. Don't know why Mastercue charges so much for shipping tips.

But anyway, if I purchase 10 tips (as an example), that would be USD 65 + 18 (shipping) = USD 83

Would mean that's USD 8.3 per tip.

For you, hotpot, that would be USD 33.2 for the 4 tips. Plus 1GBP for airmail.

Maybe ADR wants to buy some too? Though I guess if ADR can get a better deal than that, even I would buy from him! .

Edit: also sent an email to Stu from Green Baize just to check if he stocks them.
Would be intested in buying some please .

              Hey Hotpot,

Stu from Greenbaize said that he have it, so you can email him right now and see how much he sells them.

But if he doesn't have it anymore, and you still want it, I can contact Mastercue again to get some first. I'll be flying back to the Netherlands on the 6th of March, with a stopover in London as well. So hopefully if I contact Mastercue for the tips, I'll get it by then.

They are more of a solid hit than Kamui which i found good but a bit too springy for me . They hold the chalk better an are just as responsive and just as good for touch shots . They are very similar to phoenix mediums but again a bit more of a solid hit .

Thanks for that...overall do you think the phoenix mediums would last as long as the kamuis?
I don't have the time these days to change tips, or break them in and like the idea that the kamuis seem
to last for ages and still perform well.

The Phoenix hold their shape just as good if not better than Kamui and will last as long i had one on for arounf 3 months and there is still plenty of life in it . The mastercue tips are great from the off and to hardly no time to knock in muck .

                              Are these laminated or pressed?
