Hi Jay, after trying a few different tips over a period of time I settled on Kamui Black (medium) I play 8 ball pool and snooker with the same cue. The tip gives a firmer feel over some i've tried and suits me perfectly. I'm pleased with changing over to layerd tips, you'll have to keep us updated how you get on with yours. p.s just be careful when shapeing it

I use pro-granite tips and find them a little harder than a elk but last 10 times as long.only trouble is they are quite big so take alot to shave them down to size.good thing with them is they don't lose there shape

                  This might be handy
Ultimately, it boils down to personal preference. Look at your own game and you should be able to determine which tip is going to work best for you.

The methodology for testing tip density is as follows:

Use a standard Shore A Durometer (0-100 hardness scale)
                  1Kg (2.2 lbs) of pressure
Measure the density of three tips per brand
Take the average of the three measurements to determine a density rating
                  Tip Brand Tip Size Density
                  Elk Master 10-14mm 66.8
Kamui Black (Super Soft) 14mm 67.5

I really like them its the soft one I use slightly softer than a kamui s, best tip I have used, took a few frames to bed in
a bit to soft to start with, I have had it on 3 months and its still playing really well, longest ive had a tip on in years!!

I normally use Kamui M, so I have asked for a Zan medium, be interesting to see how I get on.

Just chanced my arm with an email, some of the more obscure/lesser are quite happy to give you a freebie for the exposure on here and elsewhere.
