  • Some advice needed please!

    This is getting frustrating...........,

the problem is i seem to play well after i change my tip for a week or two, but then inconsistencies arise in my game and i start struggling to make pots, and breaks are few and far between.

Do i need to be scuffing up my tip to get back to how it was when i first fitted it? Is the tip going hard?

Currently i have a medium kamui on, i played really well for a week or so (i play almost every day) but then the last few days i have played pretty badly. I havn't done anything to the tip since i put it on and its still nicely domed.

I keep blaming my tip but maybe it's some other problem?

Stop blaming your tip, it sounds like a psychological(sp?) thing, unless you're starting to miscue often (which even then is likely bad technique rather than 100% your tips fault).

No problem in lightly roughing your tip, or using a tip pick, each time you play just reassure yourself (I read somewhere one of the laminated tip makers suggested removing chalk from the tip after use too).

Matt unless the tip feels not right then you cant blame it for poor form . It may be playing on your mind so much that its affecting your concentration . If thats the case then you may be better off changing it . If you like Kamui then give Phoenix mediums or Black magic mastercue tips a go .

thanks guys, i have a medium phoenix, but havn't tried them yet, i want to give this kamui a fair trial first.

I think i do have a little bit of a psychological problem when it comes to my tip! lol, ive changed it quite a lot already this year

something i read in another thread was about concentrating too much on your technique while playing matches, which is something i do. I think i need to work on my techniqque while practising but when it comes to a match i need to clear my mind of technical issues and just play.
