I've used the Ultimate Tip Tool for years. You can use it to shape your tip but I find an even better use.
On each side of the tool is a brass groove with a small strip of sandpaper at the top. The sandpaper area is recessed in from the groove, abit one side, abit more the other. This allows you to slide the groove along the shaft and sand the SIDES of the tip evenly all around. The offset is so that the sandpaper does not touch the ferrule, therefore the tip sides end up a tad wider than the ferrule.
I like to use the deeper offset. Gives you a bigger tip size, neatly all around.
