Mike, will your version have a smaller hole more suited to snooker cues (and not suitable for bigger US pool cues) or are you working on an adjustable internal diameter?

Whatever put me down for one too...

That is what I'm after, the Porper trimmer is well made, but of no use to me. I get on better with those big pencil sharpener things, though you have to be careful that they don't damage the shaft.

In that case, let's all wait for Mike's version to be out.

i've decided to make a modified version to fit snooker/pool cues. it'll be even better...

also, the little tip trimmer needs modifying to suit our tip sizes. i'll do one of them too.

            pre-orders welcome, who wants one?
I'd be interested in one of those Mike....

I use the Joe Proper trimmer at the minute and it works really well, but I'm always interested if there could be an improvement on it!!

I wanted to purchase this trimmer but the staff at my local cue shop advised me not to because its more for pool. I played around with it and apparently to me, the diameter of the hole ain't adjustable thus I didn't buy it.

i'll also try to make it so standard stanley type blades can be fitted so it's very cheap to replace blades.
This one could be a very big seller. Do you think you can make it to do the kind of mushroom tip Hotpot describes as well? Or would you lose that ability in the smaller size?

Seems very nice to me. Didn't thought of looking at my local book store to check out the sharpeners. Shall do so later. How do you find out what's the diameter of the hole?

Saw the sharpener, the hole looks nice to fit my stick..
Price ok.. Try eh.. If can't, I can use for my pencil anyway
It's not expensive.. I believe they only have 2 size for the sharpener..

The cue tip I received from friend is a 14mm one, meant for pool. I wanna flush it down to ferrule but apparently my blade at home ain't sharp enough to trim the access off. Will go Art's Friend at Bouna Vista to check it out.

the adjustment screw you are talking about is not to adjust any angle, it is purely to adjust to the height of the tip so that the ferrule is in no danger of being cut.

the hole is for 14mm tips. it's an american pool cue tool. it is meant to fit quite close and remove the mushrooming/overhang of a tip so that it the tip is flush(ish) with the ferrule.

it is not really designed to be tilted and used as you are using it, although i can see it could work well doing it like that. but i can also see how someone may mark or damage their ferrule or wood by rubbing the metal edge on their cue to 'make it' cut a 10mm tip.

the angles you are achieving are simply cos the hole is 'sloppy' so you are able to lean either to the top or bottom, but, as i said, from what you are doing it can be utilised to your advantage. but you gotta be careful eh...

i've decided to make a modified version to fit snooker/pool cues. it'll be even better...

Definitely count me in! I hate trimming the sides of tips.
