Yes, at £300 delivered it is not cheap. I suspect I know the answer to this one but has anybody tried a Chinese iron? Maybe I could get one in China, use on my table there and if it works take it to Europe.

Steady Philip, next you'll be getting a proper table brush

Not for the one in China I won't. The one in Bulgaria already has 2 proper table brushes but I still fail to see how they are better than a clothes brush. A bit bigger admittedly so faster to do the job but I actually enjoy spending time with my table.

BTW are Dowsing irons still made in UK? So little of anything seems to be these days.

Yes, less than £200 including delivery is a bit closer to my end of the market.

I tried to post but the posting has disappeared! The Taiwan made iron has now arrived. The weight is 5.5Kg so after deducting the weight of the flex, plug, stand etc. the actual iron is probably closer to 5Kg. It certainly seems to work well enough and I am very pleased with it. Whether or not it will last remains to be seen. If it is still going strong in February I shall take it with me to use on the table in Bulgaria.

EBay second hand might be an option.
