He uses a joe porper tip trimmer , i,ve used this tool on kamui and other tips and its great , never had a problem as long the blade is not blunt the blades can be turned around and replacements are quite reasonable .

Little tip for the tip trimmer , mark one side of the blade with a felt pen as when you turn it around no doubt you,ll put the blade down and wont know which side you,ve used , just like i did .

        Hi Guys,
just a quick follow up to say the the latest tip is still going strong after over 60hrs play infact its still at the original hight that i fitted it at. My best guess is that Rob was correct in that my previous tips were indeed fake, actually they played a little softer too.
Thanks for all of your input.

Is this a Kamui M mate? I'll be interested to here your review of comparisons between the different laminates you've bought and will try. I just put a talisman on this morning, posted from chetsworth cues (superb service), as my GBL PG went to paper mache, a piece of junk. Immediate improvement in spin and screw, and no daft throw off the tip either. No more single piece leather tips for me, they might be ok on a 'glass surface' Star table, but not on any regular club table where one has to work the cue ball to generate spin.

            Hi PP,
yes the tip is a Kamui 11mm (M), Of the Talismans I have tried I only got on with the softs, and even they were a little hard although they did eventually feel nice after a short period of playing in.These Kamui's are the tips for me , I love the instant feel of control, which never diminishes or changes from the get go, control is EXCELLENT and throw is if any is unnoticeable. The talismans always sounded funny to me to, especially when holding the butt with a few fingers using the rest, a kind of 'pinging' sound could often be heard,
To be honest the talisman perform really well in all aspects of the game, I also found the kamui takes the chalk so much better to, the talismans seemed to need extra attention to make sure the chalk was applied correctly, that said If the Kamui was not available I would go back to the talisman soft, rather than a pressed tip, but for me my cue a 10mm 3/4 Master Cue Exclusive will always be sporting a Kamui (M) THEY ROCK AND FILL YOU WITH CONFIDENCE...

I just wish i had a contact number for Arthur Winn from Chelmsford who supplied me directly with my last and probably only genuine tip, so that i could order some more from him.

            All the best
            Ian

the reason i stopped selling them was the massive amount of fakes making it impossible to compete.

                UPDATE
Great news I have managed to contact Arthur Winn we can purchase genuine Kamui tips directly from him via his new ebay shop,
at the moment he has listings for the hard 11mm at 8.40 inc p&p.
I have no association with Arthur other than I know his tips to be the 'REAL' thing.

Hi guys, I use the kamui 14mm soft black tip cut down for snooker, do you know if you can get the soft in 11mm?
it just seems to be hard or medium I can find in 11mm
                  Cheers

This vid does not help with 11m tips, as they are different to look at...

As far as I can see, 11mm are only available in M or MH.

either not genuine or he is not paying tax. because they are too cheap.

JJB sports are currently selling 10mm black Kamui tips off at £4.99, sounds like a bargain and must be genuine.

They are listed as 10mm, but if you zoom on the example it is 11mm. Would seem highly unlikely that a major retailer would not be selling genuine products, at that price we should all fill our boots !

Interesting stuff Ian. Do you find Kamuis hard to get hold of? They're on ebay from sellers with a lot of good feedback for £8. But they seem to come in different designs, some with just writing, some with a silver stamp on the base. Who did you buy yours off mate? I wonder where hotpot gets his?
