  • Aramith Tip

Has anyone tried the new Aramith tip? How much do they cost? Looks like a Kamui to me, but obviously not made in Japan:

    I love the box.

Reviews suggest that this tip doesn't harden up, chip, chalks well, grips the cue ball well, and it plays a bit softer than a Kamui etc.

    * Ok, so about £10 each.

    PP:

In your role as 'Master Thread Starter' on TSF how about contacting Saluc and asking for a box as samples you can send out to all the members? (I think 10 quid is a little pricey so I don't think I'll be buying these tips unless they are a major leap in technology)

Oh dear, I suppose it's Friday. Bunch of cnuts. Anyway, that's a good idea, I'll email them. I think they'll refuse as the tips appear marketed towards the pool fraternity in the US: 12, 13, 14mm diameter. But it's worth a try.

Any idea how much they charge for shipping; I really don't want to fill all their forms in if it turns out to rather expensive.

Also, the only size they have posted up is 14mm, which would make the tip way too thick for snooker

Afternoon Gents, I'll get an email from Saluc tomorrow (hopefully) and source some Euro supplies. I'll call em and put the fluent French speaker on the phone. We obviously need the 12mm tips.

I been using this tip already for 8 month now its a 12 mm medium versions, the tip holding chalk very well, feel solid even if you installed it thick, the good thing is this tip really absorb momentum very well and reduce deflections on a cue ball, i already experiment by trying to potting ball from half table using side, it work superb.. if you using it for snooker try your best to cut it into 2 pcs so you will get extra for replacement later.. oh one more thing, if you hit so hard with this tip, you will see the tip get mushy and start to compress then its diameter becoming slight bigger due it stretching , my advice trim it down and try not to leave layer with glue on your domed tip surface otherwise you hit will not be consistent. This tip doesn't have bouncy effect at beginning but after a while using it you start to feel it bouncy effect get better and better. Strongly recommended to snooker player to give it a try.. my break get improved every day since im using it.
