Hi , how long does it usually take before the phoenix tips start to do their stuff ?? I have used a talisman a number of years back but it felt like I had glued half a glass marble to the end of my cue , plus it would not take chalk at all !!! I am so reluctant to try the laminated tips

Update to this thread .... Interesting to hear John Virgo remarking on the fact Ronnie had, had a new tip fitted this week and that they cut them down these days to stop them being so spongy. Guessing he is referring to elks and diamonds etc. and not laminates."When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it." - Henry Ford

Had an elk fitted on my cue then cut down from top with Stanley blade and shaped to suit, got to say I would have had my doubts about doing this but he has fitted tips for top pro's and I must say what a great job he done and tip plays great!!" and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green.
